Sarah Weddington, Jane Hickie, Ann Richards, Cathy Bonner, Judith Guthrie and Martha Smiley elected as the board of the corporation. |

Womanpower publishes its first educational project, a book titled Texas Women in Politics. |

Womanpower changes name to the Foundation for Women's Resources. |

The Foundation launches its first major statewide project, "Texas Women: A Celebration of History" under Foundation President Ann Richards. The project, directed by Mary Beth Rogers, was the first large-scale effort to document and publicize the contributions of women to the state's history. |

The "Texas Women: A Celebration of History" project is a touring exhibit at museums in San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Amarillo, El Paso and Houston. |

Ellen C. Temple and Katherine B. (Chula) Reynolds elected to the board of directors. |

Board President Cathy Bonner, proposes the creation of Leadership Texas — a program to identify and develop Texas' women leaders. Martha P. Farmer is named director of Leadership Texas and executive director of the Foundation. |

The "Texas Women: A Celebration of History" project goes on permanent display at Texas Woman's University. |

Mary Beth Rogers is elected to the Leadership Texas board of directors. |

Rosie Zamora, Cassandra Carr, Pat Bailey, Shirley Hoskins, Judith Ford and Patricia Diaz-Dennis are added to the Foundation board of directors. |

The Foundation launches Leadership America, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia and directed by Martha Farmer. |

1992 |
“Options for Girls: An Anthology on Science and Math” is developed to encourage young women to pursue lifelong interest and potential careers in math and science. |

The Women’s Museum: An Institute for the Future opens at Fair Park in Dallas. It is a place that tells the stories of women’s accomplishments and contributions to American history. |

Foundation for Women’s Resources relocates to The Women’s Museum. |
